Your challenges

  • Scout for, identify and evaluate attractive companies for investment and partnering
  • Technology scouting, ranging from screening and evaluating early-stage concept ideas to identifying new technologies and application-driven business opportunities
  • Analyze and interpret relevant business and technology trends in Europe
  • Develop relationships and establish collaboration network within European life science ecosystem (e.g., with Academia, Industry, KOLs, Incubators, Accelerators and startups)
  • Manage and liaise with potential technology partners (e.g., universities, startups…)
  • Manage and support pre-studies to evaluate promising technologies and verify their benefits, cost and risk
  • Participate in the evaluation and due diligence of specific collaboration / partnering / investment opportunities in close collaboration with other members of the EpIC team
  • Contribute to the development of the EpIC business and investment strategy with the EpIC leadership team and to establishing EpIC as a “brand” in the life science technology and investment sector
  • Location of the position preferably in Hamburg, Germany

Your expertise

  • Successfully completed master’s degree in life sciences, (bio-)engineering or related field
  • Well-networked in cutting-edge life-science, biotech-industrial, pharma and clinical environment with a focus on the future
  • Good understanding and knowledge of processes and applications in life science research and diagnostics labs and of the industry serving this space
  • Minimum three to five years of relevant work experience
  • Broad expertise in life science and laboratory methodologies and tools
  • Solid scientific/technical background specifically around applications and solutions
  • Excellent technical, analytical skills and business acumen
  • Project management skills in a cross-functional setup
  • Pragmatic, results-oriented working style and an independent, proactive approach to new challenges and problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to network effectively (internal and external) and establish meaningful and lasting working relationships
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work setting and meet project deliverables and timelines
  • Ability to work in a virtual/home office-based team setup, with travel up to 50% of time
