Clemens Plaschka: Making a stop-motion movie of mRNA production
Clemens Plaschka is the 2024 winner of the Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators. As a Group Leader at the Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna, Austria, his work has shed light on the complex concert of proteins and processes that operate between DNA transcription and the translation of messenger RNA (mRNA) into proteins. In the new Nature podcast with science journalist Adam Levy, Clemens outlines his research on the steps that package mRNA and transport it out of the nucleus.
