Eppendorf supports Make-A-Wish with €15,000 donation for critically ill children

  • Continuation of the traditional Eppendorf Christmas donation
  • 15,000 euros for the donation-funded organization Make-A-Wish
  • Support for seriously ill children and young adults

Every year, Eppendorf Market Region Europe supports social, health and environmental projects with its traditional Christmas donation. "This year, Eppendorf Europe is continuing the tradition of making a Christmas donation for a special cause," reports Christoph Thumser, Senior Vice President Market Region Europe. "We are particularly pleased to be supporting Make-a-Wish International this year, an organization that makes a long-cherished wish come true for seriously ill children."

The distribution of the donation amount emphasizes the European character: 5,000 euros each will go to Make-a-Wish Germany, Make-a-Wish France, and Make-a-Wish in the UK. Make-A-Wish is a 100% donation-funded organization based in Phoenix, Arizona.

Sick children can't wait

Children battling a serious illness are deprived of much of their normal childhood. The donations enable the foundation to fulfill special wishes when the children need it most.

This is not a fleeting gift, but a carefully planned "journey" with various elements that complement medical treatment and provide resilience, hope, strength, and joy – important building blocks in the healing process. Many children say that their wish journey was a turning point in their fight for recovery and a healthy life.

About Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish was founded in the USA in 1980. Since 1983, Make-A-Wish International has been fulfilling the wishes of seriously ill children outside the United States of America. This umbrella organization also includes the so-called Affiliates in Germany, France and Great Britain.

Make-A-Wish Germany grants life-changing wishes to seriously ill children and young people in Germany. When children are battling a serious illness, much of their normal childhood is taken away from them - a grueling time, both emotionally and physically. The fulfillment of a heartfelt wish gives families the opportunity to see more than the illness, the wish journey gives a piece of normality. It is not a fleeting gift, but a carefully planned "journey" with various elements that complements medical treatment and provides resilience, hope, strength and joy - important building blocks in the healing process.
