The application process at Eppendorf

From the online application to the first welcome. Our application process is very straightforward and convenient via our application management tool, as this allows us to receive and review applications centrally. An application is therefore only possible online via our application tool.

For professionals

Our recruiting team will review your online application and respond to you individually. If we are impressed, we will invite you to an initial telephone or virtual interview to get to know each other and discuss your motivation for the job. If there is a good fit, we will schedule a second interview, ideally in person on site. Depending on your position, you may also be invited to participate in a further selection process to get to know our company and the specialist department better. If we are a good match, we will send you a contract offer within a few days.

For apprentices, students & trainees

To apply, simply use our applicant management system and you will receive a confirmation of receipt. After we have received your documents, we will review them and get in touch with you once we have made an initial selection. The duration of the assessment process depends on the number of applications we receive. We value your personal impression, motivation, and curiosity as the most important factors. We are excited to have you as an apprentice with us upon successful completion of the application process!

For university students

After receiving your application, we will schedule an initial interview, either digitally or in person. During this approximately one-hour exchange, you will have the opportunity to meet with the responsible Human Resources contact person and a colleague from the specialist department. The purpose of the interview is to learn more about your qualifications and motivation, as well as to answer any questions you may have about Eppendorf and the position. If we're both on the same page about working together, we can't wait to meet you in person and coordinate everything on site!

Of course, we greatly appreciate initiative and a particularly strong interest in Eppendorf. However, at the moment we would ask you to only apply for specific vacancies via our careers page.

We really value getting to know you as a person. What are your priorities? What do you expect from your future employer? What motivates and inspires you? What kind of work environment do you prefer, and how do you see yourself developing? By having an open, genuine, and honest conversation, we hope to figure out how well we match your goals. During our application process, we conduct at least two interviews, possibly case studies or participation in an assessment centre, to get to know you well. This helps us ensure that we make the right decision and that you are convinced that Eppendorf is the employer of your choice. Depending on your company location, your travel expenses will be reimbursed by Eppendorf. For reimbursement, we require the original receipts, and also your account number and bank code. Detailed information will be found in the invitation to your interview.

There are no deadlines. You can apply to the listed positions approximately a year in advance.

We want to get to know you as a person in our interviews, which usually take from one to one and a half hours. You could inform yourself about Eppendorf as a company and an employer, for example. Being able to tell us precisely why this particular training is of interest to you is also as good way to prepare. Why did you specifically choose Eppendorf for training?

The interview gives you the opportunity to present your strengths and talents in a favourable light, but also for you to gather further information about the position. We will be happy to tell you all you need to know and more about the training and about Eppendorf as a company.

Technical and business training usually starts in August. Occasionally, some positions start in February. Please refer to the advertisement for details.

Your application should include the following documents: Curriculum vitae (CV), cover letter, certificates.

You will receive an entry confirmation as soon as your application has been sent. We will contact you as soon as your papers have been carefully examined.

We train people to work for us; our goal is to take you on full-time after completion of your training. You will then have many opportunities to develop and grow in your chosen profession. You could, for example, qualify for more advanced tasks in your field, further enhancing and strengthening your professional expertise and competence.

We offer internships to enrolled students.

The trainee program always starts each year in April and October.

You will be assigned to a fixed department where you will mainly be employed. In addition, you will work in at least two other related departments and also be given the opportunity to spend several months at one of our Eppendorf locations worldwide.

Graduates holding a Bachelor's or a Master's degree are eligible to apply for the program. For details of the exact area of specialization, please refer to the respective job advertisement.

We train you for our own needs. It is therefore our goal to employ you on after you have successfully completed your trainee program.
